Our Family and Travels
Mexico
So far, we have made two trips to Mexico. The first was when we stayed with our friends, the Millers, in Silver City, New Mexico, circa 1981. On one of those days, we went to El Paso and hired a cab to take through Ciudad Juarez. The cab driver wanted to see the wealth and businesses of Juarez and tried yo keep us clear of the abject poverty. He was not able to keep us from that. We can post those photos after we find them and digitize them.
In 2003, we spent a week in Acapulco. It was a time when Acapulco was calm, except it seemed that a local timeshare employed two-thirds of the city to steer people into a presentation. It was hard to walk the street without being accosted by one of these people. The best part of the trip was taking a glass bottom boat trip to an island in the bay where we got the trip, some cliff divers, a lunch, a tour of the island, and an Aztec show -- all for $10. Of course, we had to see the official cliff diving spot.
We will post pictures here as we get them together.
